Gagan Jain is the President and Founder of Ayushi Software Services Group, Inc., incorporated in March 2002; which focuses on Mobile Application Software Services to government agencies and commercial clients. Before this company, he has run a successful software project development, training and business consulting firm, SmartWare Labs, in Mumbai with on-site and off-site project execution, business consulting and software training areas of focus.

He has over 15 years experience in USA and Offshore (India/Barbados) as IT technology and business management leader with an ability to direct complex projects from business/technology concept to fully operational status. He has proven ability to work in unison with staff, consultants, vendors, technology executives, and managing/executive directors.

He has extensive experience in Extreme Programming, Rational Unified Process and Agile Methodologies including Project Planning, Estimation and Risk Analysis and Project Management approaches towards iterative project management. With complete understanding of SOA & Portal based solution design/architecture approach, he has been successful in leading major legacy systems, portals, business integration and applications development initiatives for Global 2000 companies in diverse domains such as Financial/Banking/Insurance Services, City Government Agency, Wireless Communications/Digital/Advertising Media, Automobile, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Geological, and Manufacturing/Retail industries.

Both in the capacity as an independent consultant and an active “internal entrepreneur” with some of these companies, he has presented solution designs, software process improvement proposals and software “best practices” to achieve maximum value out of the information systems for the enterprises. He has participated in Software Process Improvement Initiative (SPI) representing architecture and development team within cross-functional teams containing Process Analyst, Project Manager, Quality Manager, Program Manager, and Architects at different companies. He has been a Software Methodology Leader for instituting an iterative life cycle over waterfall life cycle based on his experience in agile methodology.

Gagan Jain has Bachelors Degree (BS) in Electronics Engineering from University of Mumbai, Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Marketing from Rutgers Business School, New Jersey, Certified Scrum Master and is a PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

He was the Client Relationship Liaison for a graduate course initiative for Supply Chain Logistics of an agricultural commodities client participating with 4+ MBA graduates. He was Management Consulting Course Leader and applied Rutgers Consulting Project Methodology while leading a group of 7+ MBA graduates in capstone-based project “Drive-Through Retail Service” selected from amongst six other projects. He has undergone a short graduate course on Lean Six Sigma as a Business Process Improvement methodology.

He is an active member of associations such as IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, Scrum Alliance, PMI NJ Chapter, Association of IT Architects (AISA) and PMI. He has been involved in different community activities as a speaker, contributor, volunteer and mentor. He regularly writes on the topics of Mobile Computing, Cloud, Agile and SOA.
